Pontus Ikander
Visual artist. Born in 1987 in Helsingborg. Lives and works in Malmö.
Pontus Ikander’s sculptures and paintings are created through an analysis of how people and different materials are affected by the past, the contemporary and by human activities. He wants to convey the existential insights created by the passing of time and the impact of human activities on ourselves and on materials. Ikander’s inspiration comes from the insight about the vulnerability of human beings as well as the impermanence of our construction projects. Through his art he wants to present what has occurred over time, the consequences of our way of living and of us simply existing.
